passed away at the age of 60 last week, after a year-long fight with brain cancer. good evening, i'm jennifer burton. thanks for being with us tonight. today, hundreds of people had the opportunity to reflect on the impact she had on their lives. ryan canaday was at today's memorial and joins us now live in the studio. ryan? jen today's service was a beautiful salute to the life of debbie smith. she was remembered as a loving colleague, wife, and mother...who no matter what...always stayed true to what she believed in. bruce bilbrey--if you met her at the grocery store, of if you met her at the halls of the legislature, you got the same debbie, and that was good." debbie's brother bruce was one of many who only had the best things to say about debbie's life. he recalled a story his sister once told him..about her secret to always staying so calm at the legislature. "she said i always ask myself one thing, will this make my mother proud." her colleagues in the legislature, looked up to her
describing her with words like fair and selfless. "here she is living with a life threatening issue and she is apologizing to me, selfless, that's what debbie was." her niece recited the words of a country music song... words that she felt embodied the way debbie chose to live her life each and every day. "hold the door, say please, say thank you, don't steal, don't cheat and don't lie, i know you've got mountains to climb but always stay humble and kind." and her son ian and daughter erin..asked the room of crowded people to take the love that they had for debbie...and to now share it with debbie's husband greg...saying he needs it now more than ever. "my mom spent the last year fighting this disgusting disease and my dad was there every moment, he would not leave her alone for a moment and he loved

yesterday, police recovered the body of 33-year-old joshua patterson, of cool, california. at around noon today, the body of 34-year-old lucas johnson, of auburn, california, was receoverd. authorities say the men were not believed to have been wearing life jackets at the time. more than a dozen states and territories will hold primaries on super tuesday -- the biggest contest so far in the 2016 election season. steve nannes reports. with a major victory in south carolina, hillary clinton is hoping to keep that momentum across multiple southern states ahead of super tuesday. sunday - clinton traveled to tennessee where she spoke to a congregation in memphis while attending a church service. presidential candidate "i will need your help on tuesday. the primary here in tennessee is very important." butt sot "i hope you will come out and vote and of course i would be honored to earn your vote on tuesday."

"it's a very good quote, it's a very interesting quote, and i saw it. i know who said it. but what difference does it make whether it's mussolini or somebody else, it's certainly a

"one officer down. i don't know where the suspect is."
and killed saturday on her first day on patrol with the prince william county police department in virginia. "she clearly had a passion to serve others that went beyond herself." guindon and two other officers were responding to a domestic dispute saturday night, about 30 miles outside of washington dc. police arrested 32 year old ronald hamilton, an active duty army staff sergeant assigned to the pentagon. they say he shot and killed his wife then opened fire on the officers.
